The first fundraiser to take advantage of our new MyDonate facility has stepped up to the mark!
Simon Falconer met Jessica at Queens Hospital, Romford where they were both on the ME/CFS unit there. Recent activities that were promoted via Medway Messenger and social network media prompted Simon to get back in touch with Jessica and following her “Big Chop” earlier this year he has decided to do a sponsored head shave. Simon, who works as a teacher expects support from his form class. Within 1 day of posting the event Share A Star has received £170 and will recoup a further £42.50 in Gift Aid! A substantial donation was made by Simon himself but family and friends have started their support.
Simon’s MyDonate fundraising page says:
“SIMON FALCONER – SPONSORED HEAD SHAVE
I am raising money in aid of the Charity Share a Star. The Charity was set up by a friend I met in Romford Hospital, Jessica L E Taylor. It raises money for severely ill children and young people! The amazing thing is that Jessica has been desperately ill for 7 years now herself with severe ME and continues to fight this illness on a daily basis! She is such an inspiration!!!At the end of April I will be shaving off all my hair to raise some money to support Jessica’s Charity! Please support me!!”
